Yeah, I pulled all the mats up—I put everything back, don't worry—and this was under the mats, in the... pit... thing... So I thought maybe it was related to your god.

I don't know how the masks would factor in if that is the case, however. They have never shown a particularly strong interest in the dramatic arts, beyond the attention they give to all human craft, and I'm uncertain of what other meaning this symbology might hold. Some other manner of duality or balance, but that could be many things.

We thought maybe your God had been split or had a twin. It's just them? Nobody else?

[Like, he knows that's how Christianity works, but he also knows enough to know there's many gods out there. Faith's is just one.]

That is- also possible, though I've never spoken to any but they. As far as I know they are the last god remaining in this world.

Do you... know if there were others, before?

A great many. Whether they perished the in disaster that struck this world or moved on in its aftermath, I cannot say.

Can you tell me more about the disaster? Or just the world in general, if that's too crass.

I don't know about the calamity in detail, unfortunately. The world outside...

[She folds her arms, leaning back a little.]

Most of it has been blasted clean, physically. This manor is one of the few islands of habitable land left in existence, amidst storms of raw arcane magic and unlivable void. Among those islands, fewer still have any kind of artificial structures left, much less any as complete as this manor.
