...I believe Kanade was more accurate in her assessment than I was. [He said that gently, third arm retracting as he took the staff back and sat down. The soup he'd made was something thin, warm and made for when keeping anything else down was difficult.]

Not wholly a 'trick', but a situation with only a minimal percent chance of success.

I don't know that that is any better, anymore.

[Yeah, she'll try the soup. Pause for a moment, then take another, slower sip.]

[He didn't push the subject, sitting in silence for a moment or two.]

...Do you like it? I was worried I might not have remembered the ingredients correctly.

That's reassuring to hear. As long as it helps even a little, I can accept that as a resounding success.

Would you mind showing me the recipe, at some point?

No, of course not--I can write it down right now. [He brightened up just a little, taking out his journal and starting to do exactly that.]

It's meant to be made with minimal ingredients, so it is not difficult by any means.

Not at all--my parents would have been flattered, I am sure.

[Viktor's handwriting was far more neat and orderly than the typical mad scientist's might have been--truly a method to the madness, or he was actively focusing enough to make sure it was legible. Anyone's guess, really.]

It isn't much--we never had particularly much to work with in general--but if you like it, you're more than welcome to it.
